All My Sons description
Arthur Miller's classic All My Sons returns to the West End.
A brand new production of All My Sons stars the Olivier and Tony Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston (The Studio, Argo, Breaking Bad, Malcolm in the Middle, Jerry & Margo Go Large) as Joe Keller along with Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths, The Amen Corner) as Kate Keller and Paapa Essiedu (Black Doves, I May Destroy You, Death of England: Delroy) as their son Chris.
The play is directed by Tony and Olivier Award-winner Ivo van Hove (A Little Life), reuniting with Cranston after their collaboration on the stage adaptation of the film Network, for which Cranston won the Best Actor Olivier and Tony Awards.
The story? Joe is a respected, self-made success who enjoys providing for his family. When war breaks out he turns an even healthier profit. But his business partner is charged with dodgy manufacturing deals selling faulty aircraft parts that caused the death of 21 pilots. Themes of guilt, accountability and morality unfold as his oldest son goes missing in action. When the war ends, Joe's involvement starts to become clearer and he is confronted by the consequences of his actions.
The play is produced by Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions and Playful Productions with a creative team involving Scenic and Lighting Design by Jan Versweyveld, Costume Design by An D'Huys, Sound Design by Tom Gibbons and Casting by Julia Horan CDG. The Dramaturg is Ola Animashawun. This is Van Hove's third Miller play, the others being A View from the Bridge with Mark Strong and Nicola Walker and The Crucible starring Ben Whishaw.
Arthur Miller dissects the lies behind the American Dream in this brilliantly disturbing play that's just as relevant today.
