Barcelona description
A pair of strangers collide in Barcelona, then hook up for a simple one-night stand. Irene, an American from Denver on a hen weekend, meets Manuel, a charismatic Spaniard from Madrid, and it should be simple... but things quickly get very complicated indeed.
Starring Lily Collins as Irene and Álvaro Morte as Manuel, the action all takes place on one night. During the course of it, what starts life as a carefree night of fun turns into an invitation to danger. Bodies collide, cultures meet, the personal blends with the political, and the two strangers find themselves walking a tightrope between mutual destruction and unexpected salvation. As the gap between fantasy and real life widens, this seductive thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Respected actors bring the story alive
Lily Collins delighted the nation in the BBC sitcom Growing Pains. She thrilled us in the 2009 sports drama movie The Blind Side, just one of many film roles. She played Fantine in the BBC miniseries Les Misérables from 2018–2019 and marketing executive Emily Cooper in the Netflix comedy Emily in Paris, for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy.
Alvaro Morte is a respected Spanish actor best known for playing The Professor in the TV series Money Heist. He also plays Logain Ablar in Amazon Prime Video's The Wheel of Time.
Apparently Lily Collins has always wanted to act in the West End, and she’s hugely excited to make her stage debut in this exciting play. Álvaro Morte is equally thrilled with the opportunity to experience the London stage’s ‘vibrant and exhilarating canvas’ with such ‘fresh, groundbreaking work’.
A dream creative team
The action comes from the pen of Bess Wohl, directed by Lynette Linton, with Set and Costume design by Frankie Bradshaw. The Lighting is by Jai Morjaria, Composition and Sound Design by Duramaney Kamara and Xana, and the Video Design by Gino Ricardo Green.

The Movement Director and Intimacy expert is Shelley Maxwell, and there’s Vocal Coaching by Hazel Holder and Dramatherapy by Wabriya King, and the show is produced by ATG Productions, Bad Robot Live and Gavin Kalin Productions.
