Screen-to-stage Beatles musical Backbeat, based on the 90s Iain Softley film of the same name, will open at The Duke of York's Theatre this October.
The musical adaptation which is also written and co-directed by Softley, opened in Glasgow's Citizen Theatre in February 2010 and revolves around the bands 'Hamburg years'.
During this early period and prior to their global success, the plot centres on the relationships between original bassist and promising painter Stuart Sutcliffe, John Lennon and German photographer Astrid Kirchherr.
Backbeat is on sale now and booking through until March 2012.
