THE LION IN WINTER at The Theatre Royal Haymarket

It has been confirmed that James Goodman's The Lion in Winter, will open in November at The Haymarket Theatre Royal under the direction of Trevor Nunn. Casting of the lead roles of Henry II and estranged wife Eleanor of Aquitaine has been announced as British favourites Robert Lindsey and Joanna Lumley.
Olivier award winner Lindsay was most recently seen in the West End in and has an array of stage and screen credits to his name including Me and My Girl, Oliver and Becket in the West End and TV work such as hugely successful BBC sitcom 'My Family' and drama series 'Hornblower'.
Joanna Lumley was nominated for a Tony award for her role in La Bête which played at The Comedy Theatre last summer. Her other work spans a plethora of film and TV roles most notably starring opposite Jennifer Saunders as Patsy Stone in 90s comedy series 'Absolutely Fabulous'.
