The hard hitting Larry Kramer play about the AIDS crisis in New York City in the early eighties which recently took home 3 Tonies, could be on its way to London with the help of celebrity couple Elton John and David Furnish.
Furnish is quoted as saying: "Elton and I would both like to make the production as widely seen as possible, and that includes helping fund and mount future versions of it wherever we can", going on to add that having seen the play "shamed" Elton John into doing more to combat the disease including founding his AIDS foundation.
The pair have a track record of collaborating on theatrical projects with David having been executive producer on Billy Elliot for which John wrote the score and having worked together on Next Fall which played on Broadway last year.
