During April our theatre-loving customers voted with their wallets to deliver a top 12 West End shows chart packed with brand new productions, plus a handful of favourites that just keep on coming back month after month, endlessly popular theatreland record breakers like The Lion King and Mamma Mia! If you're coming London-wards in the next month, here are the shows our customers loved best during April 2015.
New in at number one, the brand new, until recently secret Kenneth Branagh Season at the Garrick theatre hit the ground running with a splash during April, delighting theatregoers who insist on the best. Tickets for this, one of Shakespeare's best-loved classics, went on sale 17th April and we've been inundated by requests for it ever since, no surprise when it stars the legendary Judi Dench along with Kenneth Branagh himself. The perfect Shakespeare play for those who are new to The Bard's work and a bonus for seasoned fans.
The Winter's Tale Tickets
New in at number 2, this fascinating play stars Starring Nicole Kidman as the female scientist Rosalind Franklin, the woman who photographed the famous photo 51, a snap of the structure of DNA. She didn't get any credit for her discovery, which was hijacked by the famous Watson and Crick, the scientists who won the Nobel Prize for 'their' discovery of DNA's structure. Tickets went on sale 24th April and they've flown off our shelves ever since. A truly eye-opening story.

It deserves a place, being such a lively, bright and brilliant show jammed with unforgettable Kinks tunes and revealing the band's remarkable story. Put your dancing shoes on and walk this way...

The Play That Goes Wrong Tickets
It's Kenneth Branagh again, and this is another brilliant play in his new season, fresh in at number five with tickets going on sale 17th April. A hugely popular farce adapted by the talented Sean Foley from Francis Veber's French play Le Contrat, it first graced the stage in 2011, in Belfast, and is set to draw massive crowds. What's the story? Two men languish in two lonely hotel rooms with an adjoining door. One of them is a savage killer. One of them wants to die. What could possibly go wrong? Come along and see – it's fabulously funny.
The Painkiller Tickets
Back into our chart yet again and our show of the month in April, this epic jukebox musical tells the often-gritty tale of four young men who stormed the charts in the 1970s and carved themselves a place in the hearts of the soul-loving public right across the world.
