RSC’s Artistic Director, Adrian Noble’s theatrical version of the Oscar and BAFTA winning film, The King’s Speech, is set to launch a UK tour from February 2012 fuelling rumours that a West End run will follow.
The tour set to premier in Guildford before travelling to Nottingham, Bath, Brighton, Richmond and Newcastle will star Charles Edward, who recently received rave reviews for the role of Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing at The Globe, in the role of King George VI as portrayed by Colin Firth in the silver screen version.
Edward is arguably best known for playing Richard Hannay in the stage adaptation of The 39 Steps which he portrayed on both Broadway and in the West End... Might the same path lay in store with The King’s Speech?
