Clueless description
Clueless the movie has been made into a musical, a thrill for everyone who loves the witty 1995 film of the same name. If you want to book a brilliant West End comedy musical based on a movie, put this one at the top of your list.
A modern spin on Jane Austen’s novel Emma, the show has been adapted from the cult hit ‘90s movie starring Alicia Silverstone. The plot follows the popular Cher Horowitz from Beverly Hills High school. She is obsessed with setting up relationships, meddling in her friends’ lives, and this is her most important matchmaking project so far. She’s going to change her shy new friend Tai and fix her up with the school’s most-fancied boy. When things don’t go to plan, Cher realises maybe she doesn’t know much about love after all.
A previous jukebox musical showcased chart songs from the ‘80s and ‘90s. This funny, fresh new musical is based on the film, telling the whole story with the same wit, charm and quirkiness.

A collaboration this good doesn’t come along very often. Writer Amy Heckerling wrote and directed the original ‘90s movie, the ideal person for the job. KT Tunstall is a Brit Award winning singer-songwriter with chart hits like Black Horse and the Cherry Tree and Suddenly I See under her belt. Glenn Slater, who wrote the lyrics, is a Grammy winner and has been nominated for Tonys three times. He worked on Tangled, Sister Act The Musical, The Little Mermaid, Love Never Dies and School of Rock. Director Rachel Kavanaugh is another award-winner, loved for her work on Half a Sixpence and The Wind in the Willows. The choreographer is an Olivier Award winner: Kelly Devine who worked on Come From Away.
Re-imagined for the stage at last, don’t miss this heart-warming show.
