Disney's Hercules Musical description
Disney’s legendary 1997 film Hercules has been adapted for the stage and it is all set to become a monster hit. Bring the family along for a musical comedy they’ll never forget: colourful, energetic, and stacked with well-loved songs from the movie. You’re going to love this!
Will Hercules go the distance? Can he go from Zero to Hero?
An Olympian-size comedy full of family fun
Expect an out-of-this-world comedy about a young demi-god who’s keen to find out how to fit in the weird world he finds himself in. Spectacular stage sets, a dash of romance, a transformation from ordinary to heroic plus plenty of laughs make it a great experience for every age.
Starring Luke Brady
The role of Hercules himself is played by British actor Luke Brady (As You Like It for the RSC, SuperYou, Assassins, The Prince of Egypt).
The music comes from the 8-times Oscar winner Alan Menken with lyrics by Tony Award winner David Zippel. The new book is by Tony Award winner Robert Horn (Tootsie) and the Young Vic’s ex-artistic director Kwame Kwei-Armah.
Disney's Hercules is directed and choreographed by Tony-winner Casey Nicholaw (Mean Girls, The Book of Mormon, Aladdin), co-choreographed with Tanisha Scott. Set and additional video design is by Dane Laffrey and the costume design by Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser. The lighting designer is Jeff Croiter and the sound designer is Adam Fisher.
Video designer George Reeve, hair designer Mia M. Neal, make-up artist Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche and special effects guru from Jeremy Chernick help make the magic. The music supervisor and arranger is Michael Kosarin, with orchestrations from Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert, and the dance arrangements are by David Chase. The casting is by Natalie Gallacher CDG for Pippa Ailion and Natalie Gallacher Casting.
