This is a brand new production, live on stage at Riverside Studios this autumn, and based on Paul Gallico’s lovely book published in 1958. 

Adapted for the stage by Richard Taylor, who wowed us with his work on The Go-Between, and Rachel Wagstaff who scored a hit with her work on The Mirror Crack’d, this musical celebrates kindness, friendship, and the way we carry on regardless, despite our grief. 

The brilliant Olivier-Award winning stage legend Jenna Russell will star as Ada Harris herself in an acclaimed musical due to be directed by Bronagh Lagan. Produced by Aria Entertainment and Tiny Giant Productions, Flowers For Mrs Harris is on at Riverside Studios from 30th September to 26th November 2023, designed to delight and one of the best feel-good shows of the year so far. 

Jenna Russell has appeared on the stage in musicals and dramas, as well as the Royal Shakespeare Company. She played Dot in Sunday in the Park with George in the West End and on Broadway, for which she received the Tony nomination and 2006 Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Musical. She’s also appeared in a string of hit TV series.

Are you looking for something heart-warming and lovely to see in the West End? Try Flowers for Mrs Harris, on stage for a limited nine week run. This is the first London production since the show premiered in Sheffield during 2016, followed by a massively successful run at the Chichester Festival Theatre. 

The Flowers for Mrs Harris book is by Rachel Wagstaff, and the music and lyrics come from Richard Taylor. It will be directed by Bronagh Lagan, with new orchestrations by Jason Carr. Jonathan Gill is the Musical Director and the casting is by Jane Deitch. The remaining cast and creative team members will be announced nearer the time.

Ada Harris, a humble cleaner born in London, spends her days cleaning rich people’s houses. One day, when cleaning for a particularly rich client in Belgravia, she comes across a stunning dress by Dior, and it literally takes her breath away. This is Ada’s personal epiphany, an experience that starts her off on a journey she never imagined she’d take – and which changes her life forever. It might just change your life, too. 

The cobbled streets of post-war London fade away as Ada revels in the sheer sophistication of Paris and beyond. As she travels, Ada transforms the lives of everyone she meets along the way.
