Mind Mangler – Wonderfully silly stuff from Mischief
The crazy magic show from the people who created The Play That Goes Wrong is in the capital for its West End premiere, fresh from a run in the USA. It’s on at the Apollo Theatre for a six week season between 14th March and 28th April 2024.
As Mischief Theatre originals Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer said: “We could not be more excited for Mind Mangler: Member of the Tragic Circle to be appearing in the West End this Spring. Touring the UK with this show in early 2023 was an absolute joy and we’re so looking forward to bringing it to new audiences.”

What's the story behind Mind Mangler?
Mischief Theatre was founded in 2008 by a band of like-minded students from the capital’s Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Directed by Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, and Henry Shields, they originally created legendary improv comedy. By 2012 they’d taken a step into comedic theatre packed with choreography, crazy routines, mad jokes, and ill-advised stunts. The results are hilarious, and this is their latest masterpiece.
Mind Mangler premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2022 before being worked up into a two act show and taking off on a big UK tour in early 2023. Now it’s back, this time in the West End.
Your Mind Mangler tickets take you to a show starring the original Mischief Theatre company members Henry Lewis and Jonathan Sayer. The main star is based on a character created for the smash hit Magic Goes Wrong by Penn Jillette, Henry Lewis, Jonathan Sayer, Henry Shields and Teller. If you adored the hugely popular West End farce The Play That Goes Wrong, and loved Peter Pan Goes Wrong, this one’s right up your street.

Ben Hart is the magic consultant, Steve Brown is the composer, and Tom Nickson is the production manager for the UK run. The fun is directed by Hannah Sharkey, with set design by Sara Perks, costume design by Roberto Surace, lighting design by David Howe, sound design by Helen Skiera, and video design by Gillian Tan.
