This is the UK premiere of the production, billed as an immersive, uniquely innovative international stage production that steals hearts and challenges the imagination. This grand-scale experience is inspired by French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s delicious children’s book of the same name, but being packed with allegory and deeper meaning, it is perfect for people of every age.
Translated into more than 500 dialects and languages, second only to the bible, no matter where you're from or what you do, this lovely story will have you captivated from start to finish.
Exploring the meaning of life, the universe, and everything
The story goes like this. We enter the cosmic world of an aviator lost in the desert. He comes across the Little Prince, a boy who has flown from planet to planet looking for a sheep. The narrator takes up the tale as the Prince meets a series of amazing characters who communicate via dance and movement. The production is stuffed full of excitement, colour, dance, music, projections and acrobatics, a treat for anyone who loves fantasy and likes to explore the deeper meanings of life, the universe, and everything.
Considerable creative talent
The libretto adapter and co-director is Chris Mouron, the composer Terry Truck, and the video designer Marie Jumelin. Costume design is by Peggy Housset, the lighting designer is Stéphane Fritsch, and the sound designer is Tristan Viscogliosi. Hair and makeup are by Carmen Arbues Miro, with video projection by Etienne Beaussart and props by Aurélie Gandilhon.
