Yes, Prime Minister description
Yes, Prime Minister tickets – Get your laughing gear round that!
By all accounts Maggie Thatcher loved the original BBC TV series, which was screened between 1980 and 1988 and mirrored the antics of the Conservative-run Government of the time. In those days Yes Prime Minister starred Paul Eddington as the PM, Jim Hacker, who was hounded mercilessly by his megalomaniac Machiavellian personal secretary Sir Humphrey Appleby, played by Nigel Hawthorne.
What about today? With the economy in tatters it makes a refreshing change to giggle at the antics of the politicians we love to hate. And this superb political romp delivers laughs in buckets. Having already toured Britain to great popular acclaim, leaving thousands of people wiping away tears of sheer delight, now it’s back in London by popular demand for another sell-out West End run.
You’ll be glad to know it’s as fresh and current, incisive and silly as ever, and the ins and outs of life in Whitehall looks set to be amusing theatreland’s crowds for some time to come.
What goes on? Expect a chaotic and hilarious riot of sex, scheming and scandal as the comedy unfolds, created by the writers of the well-loved original TV series, Antony Jay and Jonathan Lynn. You’ll be delighted to welcome back poor old Sir Humphrey Appleby and Jim Hacker as they navigate the risky landscape of contemporary politics, fraught with professional, emotional and personal danger.
Set against a backdrop of economic meltdown, cuts, gloom and doom, the only hope of rescue appears to be the Foreign Minister of Kumranistan, whose highly dubious and immoral deal might just save the day…
There’s plenty of strong language set to adult themes, which make it the perfect night out for grown-ups of every political persuasion who enjoy a laugh. Book your cheap Yes Prime Minister tickets through our site now, and laugh your troubles away!
