Joanna Lumley to star in two short plays
Ab Fab star and West End matriarch Joanna Lumley will join Irish film, television and stage actor Andrew Scott, in two short plays by Harold Pinter as part of Jamie Lloyd’s Trafalgar Transformed season. The special event will see Lumley star in three performances of Family Voices, as well as three performances of Victoria Station at the Trafalgar Studios – on the set of current production The Hothouse between 27-29 June.
Viva Forever! posts closing notice.
The producer of Viva Forever! Judy Craymer annouced this week that the new musical, inspired by the songs of The Spice Girls will close at the end of June this year. In a statement to the press, Craymer said “It is with a heavy heart that we’ve had to make this very difficult decision to post closing notices… despite the wonderful audiences and extremely positive feedback, we just can’t make it work. I'm so proud of everyone involved in this production. Viva Forever! may be taking its leave for now in the West End but the legacy of Spice Girls will never fade.” Although Viva Forever! will not be playing forever, you can still catch the show until it closes for good on the 29 June.
The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time extends its run!
Following its recent success at the Olivier Awards – winning a whopping seven awards, the National Theatre’s hit production of The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-Time has extended its booking period to 25 October 2014, releasing an additional 250,000 tickets for the celebrated show. The Full Monty gets ready to strip for London’s West End
A stage version of the blockbusting 1997 film The Full Monty will be playing at the Noel Coward Theatre in the heart of London’s West End for 16 weeks between 20 February and 13 June 2014. Based on the true story of six steelworkers-turned-strippers, the stage production is currently on a UK tour. Keep an eye out for more details soon.
Merrily We Roll Along nets more five stars than any other musical in West End History
All of the UK’s major newspapers have given the production a five-star rating. The Independent said: “It is, make no mistake, one of the great musical productions of this or any era”.
